Newrest Uganda Inflight Services Limited is looking for a competent Management Accountant to join our dynamic team who will be performing the following tasks under the supervision of the Chief Finance Officer,
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage the company's budget.
Prepare financial forecasts to assist in planning and decision-making.
Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, explaining variances.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Generate internal financial reports for management, highlighting key metrics and financial performance.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
Cost Management:
Track and analyze costs associated with production and operations.
Implement cost control measures to optimize spending.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis for various projects and initiatives.
Strategic Planning:
Support long-term strategic planning by providing financial projections and analysis.
Assist in the development of business strategies and plans.
Evaluate the financial implications of strategic decisions.
Performance Management:
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess organizational performance.
Implement performance measurement systems to track efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide feedback to management on performance issues and areas for improvement.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Decision Support:
Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate potential outcomes of decisions.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their financial needs and challenges.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess financial risks facing the organization.
Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
Capital Management:
Analyze and manage the company's capital structure and funding needs.
Evaluate investment opportunities and their financial implications.
Assist in capital budgeting and expenditure planning.
Technology and Systems:
Utilize financial software and tools to streamline accounting processes.
Implement and maintain financial management systems.
Stay updated on technological advancements to improve financial reporting and analysis.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and develop the accounting team.
Provide training and support to team members.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department

Monthly VAT & NSSF Filing
Customer follow Ups on payments and invoicing
Simple Treasury Management
General Ledger Accounting
Maintaining proper accruals and provision report
Payroll Verification
Liason with Bond Operations
Maintaining records of ICP transactions & Corporate returns.
Supporting the team whilst on Rotation/Leave
Co-ordinating with Banks on regular transfers and payments
Ageing Reports
Maintaining a proper PL for Month End closing
Audit of Site Operations & Processes Control.
CFO Support on external and URA audits
Profile
Must have minimum 5 yrs experience as an accountant
Preferred if a student of CPA and had cleared level 2 or 3
Good computer skills and knowledge of MS office
Hands on experience in dealing with accounting software
