Organize and motivate the integrated Maintenance and Inspection team to ensure a competent and satisfied workforce. This includes assisting in the planning and preparation of individual objectives and the review and assessment of performance (including approving personnel competencies).
Responsible for the safety, quality, environmental and efficiency of all maintenance and Inspection activities at site.
Supervise and provide guidance to an integrated maintenance team to ensure all maintenance activities are achieved whilst ensuring compliance with Company policies and operating procedures/guidelines.
Build the onsite daily maintenance and inspection management system (meetings, planning, site organisation, work control, etc)
Lead the establishment of the site workshop facilities, site vehicles and site tooling requirements.
Identify the criteria and requirement for detail Site Maintenance Procedures and lead their development, ensuring completion in advance in start-up.
Support overall MIE development, providing site input to maintenance plan development and spare parts selection.
Assist in the scope development and award of Specific Maintenance Contracts.
Act as Technical Lead of the recruitment of the site maintenance team. Develop the technical evaluation criteria and lead participate and selection interviews.
Provide technical input to the discipline training of the site Maintenance team. Monitor the execution of the training provider, supporting the Training Manager
Assist in the development of a Competence Monitoring system to ensure ongoing assessment and development of skills. Identify skills gap within the organisation prior to start-up.
Undertake technical training of site equipment to build competency and understanding of the plants operation.
Support the Company Commissioning team as required, ensuring site team have exposure to all tasks.
Identify operational concerns resulting from commissioning execution, taking appropriate actions.
Be fully aware of the Emergency Response plan and cover the Emergency Response duties as allocated by the Site Manager.
Attend and participate in site Safety and Environmental meetings.
Validate established maintenance planning schedules (routine and short-term). Approves the weekly site plan.
Validates deferral notices raised for Management approval.
Prioritize operations work scopes/set priorities and coordinate activities to minimize equipment downtime and to achieve production targets.
Responsible for the optimization of maintenance manpower planning.
Monitor the use of the CMIMS at Site and ensure CMIMS and other identified reporting databases are properly maintained.
Monitor Planned Maintenance and Inspection and corrective work order back-log to ensure it remains within Company set targets.
Monitor compliance of Safety and Environmental Critical Equipment performance criterion requirements. Facilitate site aspects of the Verification process.
Monitor KPI’s parameters, and regularly review performance with Supervisors.
Identify, report and investigate any equipment failure and ensure appropriate measures are applied to prevent recurrence. Follow-up of assigned corrective actions.
Ensure quality and efficiency of all maintenance and inspection activities are performed in compliance with Regulations, Company Procedures and Company Rules requirements.
Ensure Maintenance and Inspection procedures on site are up to date. Validate new or revised procedures for site.
Ensure all maintenance/inspection documentation associated with Site modification works has been considered and addressed, especially CMIMS database updated with spares and Planned Maintenance Routines.

Carry out appraisals of Company subordinates in accordance with Company procedures and guidelines.
Act as Assessor/Verifier for Competency Assurance Management System. Ensure personnel on site have the required competency level.
Maintain and demonstrate own competency through OPERCAP.
Manage the site M&I budget as delegated by the Head of Maintenance and Inspection.
Participate in preparing the budget for maintenance operations.
Provide Methods support team with information, guidance and advice on all maintenance and integrity related issues.
The Maintenance and Inspection Superintendent must therefore keep abreast of all regulatory/technical developments to maintain an appreciation of ‘best practice’ in operations.
Share information with other support teams to improve Maintenance & Integrity efficiency.

HND (or equivalent) plus technical apprenticeship in related discipline with associated experience of supervising operation and/or commissioning in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, large utility operations/projects
Minimum of 10 years maintenance experience in petrochemical environment (or equivalent), 2 of which must have been spent in operations. Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Good understanding of plant operating principles and maintenance practices for oil and gas processing operations.
Good knowledge of the Company’s General Specifications and/or previous experience with other major IOC’s/Contractors in oil and gas construction projects.
Ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards as well as best Industry Practices.
Experience in leading site maintenance discipline or integrated team.
Management and leadership skills in order to guide a team of multi-disciplined personnel including contractors.
A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
