Muni University
Assist library users with locating and accessing books, periodicals, and other resources.

Provide guidance on library services, procedures, and the use of library equipment.
Handle user inquiries and resolve issues related to library materials and services.
Check in and check out library materials, including books, journals, and multimedia items.
Process library card registrations, renewals, and updates.
Monitor overdue items and assist in managing fines and fees.
Organize and shelve library materials according to classification systems and library policies.
Assist with cataloging new acquisitions and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Perform regular shelf checks to ensure materials are in the correct location.

High school diploma or equivalent. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience working in a library or similar environment is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with library cataloging systems and procedures is an advantage.
Strong organizational and clerical skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in using library management software and digital catalog systems.
Ability to assist patrons with locating resources and using library services.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with library users, staff, and faculty.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant position at Muni University. Typed application letters should be submitted in triplicate to the University Secretary, Muni University, P. O. Box 725, Arua, or the Kampala Liaison office in Makerere University Lincoln House A1 to be received not later than Monday 16th, September 2024 at 5:00pm.
The application letter should bear the title of the post and the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies of their Academic Documents and
Professional Certificates, National Identity Card and three recent passport size photographs, a typed and signed CV, evidence of previous employment (contract document(s), appointment letter(s) and Certificate(s) of Service) and any other relevant documents. Where it is required, applicants for academic positions should attach evidence of publications and graduate research supervision.
