Job Description
The Legal Intern will play a critical support role within the EACOP Legal Department. The intern will assist with legal research, contract drafting and review, regulatory compliance, and document management. Additionally, the intern will help prepare for legal meetings, support policy development, and collaborate with both internal departments and external counsel. This opportunity provides exposure to legal processes in an international infrastructure context, equipping the intern with skills in legal drafting, communication, and regulatory interpretation.
The intern will report directly to the Legal Manager and will interact with project teams and external stakeholders under the guidance of Legal Officers.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct legal research on energy law, environmental regulations, and infrastructure matters.
Summarize findings and brief the legal team on key issues.
Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
Monitor legal and regulatory changes and support compliance efforts.
Support legal case management and documentation.
Help coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and organize files.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary legal information.
Work with external counsel when needed.
Contribute to the development of legal policies and internal procedures.
Provide general administrative support to the legal team.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Law degree program at a recognized university.
Must provide a university introduction letter and student ID.
Must submit a partial transcript/testimonial with a minimum of an upper-second class degree.
Full-time availability for the entire internship period.
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Must submit a formal internship application letter.
