Kabale University is a Public University pursuant to Statutory Instrument No. 36 of 16th July 2015 under The Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 (as amended)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for the following post:
Teaching:
Course Delivery: Teach various technical and vocational courses to students, including lectures, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
Curriculum Development: Develop and update curriculum materials, lesson plans, and instructional materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
Practical Training: Provide practical training in specific vocational skills such as engineering, automotive repair, carpentry, welding, electronics, and other trades.
Assessment: Evaluate and assess students’ performance through practical assessments, exams, projects, and assignments.
Mentorship: Provide academic and career guidance to students, assisting them in developing their vocational skills and career plans.
Industry Engagement:
Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and to facilitate student internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
Guest Lecturers: Invite industry professionals to deliver guest lectures, workshops, and seminars.
Industry Trends: Stay updated with current industry trends and incorporate them into the teaching curriculum.
Administrative Duties:
Department Meetings: Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
Committees: Serve on academic and administrative committees within the institution.
Accreditation: Assist in the accreditation and quality assurance processes for the academic programs.
Reports: Prepare reports on student progress, curriculum changes, and other administrative duties as required.

Educational Qualifications:
Technical Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or vocational field (e.g., Engineering, Information Technology, Automotive Technology, etc.) is typically required.
Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in a related field or in Education is often preferred.
Professional Experience:
Industry Experience: Several years of practical experience in the relevant technical or vocational field.
Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience in a technical or vocational setting is highly desirable.
Certification: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., certification from trade associations or vocational education certification bodies).
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills: Strong practical skills and knowledge in the specific technical or vocational area being taught.
Teaching Skills: Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.
Assessment Skills: Ability to design and conduct practical assessments and exams.
Curriculum Development: Skills in developing and updating curriculum materials to keep pace with industry developments.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technologies and digital tools used in teaching and training.
