Job Description
Job Title: Junior Internal Communications Officer

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the position holder’s:
Content Creation:
Assist in creating a content calendar and delivering internal communication content, including newsletters, emails, intranet updates, and presentations.
Communication Plans:
Collaborate with the Internal Communications Manager to develop and implement communication plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Channel Management:
Manage and update internal communication channels, ensuring content is engaging and accessible to all employees.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with various stakeholders including creative design agency and other departments, among others to ensure clear, consistent, and aligned communication across the organization.
Event Coordination:
Support the planning and execution of internal events, such as town halls, staff meetings, and employee engagement activities.
Feedback Mechanisms:
Administer the employee feedback channels to gather employee input and improve internal communication strategies.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal communication strategies, providing recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
Professional experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal communications and staff engagements, or a related role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and departments.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Previous experience in internal communications or a related field is a plus.
Skills:
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other communication tools.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across the organization
