Sustainable access to clean energy (solar and cooking energy) for Ugandan households, micro, small and medium enterprises, social institutions (SI) and remote, refugee and host community households is increased through improved policy and regulatory framework conditions and market development.

GIZ Uganda is recruiting a Junior Administrative Specialist to support in the implementation of its programme.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Junior Administrative Specialist will be responsible for:
Dealing with all questions arising in this area.
Identifying relevant problems and issues and assisting in formulating implementation-oriented solutions.
Further developing instruments and assisting in introducing innovation and change.
Managing knowledge by disseminating and documenting know-how, experience and information.
Specific Tasks
The Junior Administrative Specialist performs the following tasks:
Managing the daily cash fund
The junior accounting professional.
Responsible for cash based on the vouchers collected daily.
Reconciles the cash book and cash account daily.
Reports any surplus or shortfall in cash.
Reports without delay if the cash holding reaches a minimum level.
Financial services
Assists with creditor and debtor administration, including local subsidies and agreements with national appraisers.
Make daily posting to both the cash and bank ledger accounts.
Prepares transfers and/or other bank documents and checks these before execution.
Makes monthly payments and foreign currency transactions and optimises these.
Is responsible for administrative aspects of financial management, e.g. bank withdrawals, direct debit orders.
Checks unexpected entries to all office bank accounts.
General services
Photocopies and scans documents as needed.
Reports without delay to the person responsible for accounting on all problems in financial administration and compliance with rules.
Is responsible for filing financial administration documents and treating confidentially.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or related area.
Details of experience: 3 years’ work experience in a comparable area
Knowledge, skills and competences:
Basic knowledge of accounting software.
Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
Good knowledge of the English language.
Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
