Job Description
Job Title: IT Officer (Fresher Jobs)
Organisation: Unifi Africa
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, including knowledge of PBX systems, DHCP, IP addresses, DNS, and Google Workspace. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Manage and maintain PBX systems, ensuring smooth communication within the organization.
Configure and manage DHCP servers to ensure efficient IP address allocation.
Monitor and manage DNS settings to ensure proper domain name resolution.
Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
Install, configure, and update software and hardware as needed.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
Provide support for remote users and ensure secure access to company resources.
Collaborate with other IT team members to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of IT projects.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of PBX systems, DHCP, IP addresses, DNS, and Google Workspace.
Familiarity with network protocols and security practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Expectations:
Standard working hours with some on-call responsibilities.
Occasional overtime may be required.
