Job Description
Job Title: IT Officer
Organisation: Mota-Engil Africa
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The IT Officer will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes providing technical support, troubleshooting system issues, managing IT assets, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency at the head office and across all sites.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Provide timely support to users and escalate unresolved problems as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets and assist in procurement to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
Train staff on IT systems and tools, and create comprehensive documentation for processes, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Conduct regular system audits, ensure optimal performance, and implement security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
Collaborate with service providers to address service gaps, introduce new technologies, and ensure smooth rollouts of applications.
Stay updated with emerging technologies, evaluate their relevance, and recommend innovative solutions to improve productivity and system efficiency.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, network management, and troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams.
Proficiency in IT asset management, network protocols, and current technology trends.
Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
