Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, committed and highly talented individual for the role of IT Audit Specialist for our Uganda office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing IT Audit services to our clients and advise on how to manage IT-related risks to balance the opportunities and threats arising from the use of technology and provide assurance over their IT controls. This role requires strong technical and audit expertise to ensure clients’ IT environments are secure, compliant, and aligned with regulatory standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute IT engagements including but not limited to IT audit reviews, ISAE 3402 assurance engagements and compliance reviews across a portfolio of local and international clients tailored to each client’s industry, regulatory environment, and unique risks.
Perform risk assessments on clients’ IT environments, identifying key risks related to data protection, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
Identify and communicate IT audit findings to the engagement manager and Partner ensuring clear understanding of identified risks and improvement areas.
Prepare detailed IT audit reports with observations, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations for clients.
Deliver quality work based on current IT control standards and methodologies.
Utilize Grant Thornton’s audit technology and methodology when completing work and documenting conclusions.
Build an understanding of client businesses and markets to assist in the development of client relationships.
Demonstrate ability to manage multiple IT engagements across different industries.
Actively participate in the development and growth of the firm’s client portfolio.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidates should have:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Information Technology Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any related field.
Relevant professional certifications e.g. CISA is preferred.
7 years’ experience in audit related fields especially in IT Audit in Audit and Consulting firms.
Specific experience in IT General Controls and IT Automated Controls in accordance with ISA 315 (Revised 2019), Identifying and Assessing the Risks of Material Misstatement.
Experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing clients towards the successful completion of projects.
Proven experience in external auditing and/or internal audit and regulatory requirements.
A team player with a strong analytical mind-set.
Fluent in English both written and oral.
Strong client delivery focus.
Focus on quality and risk and sound problem-solving ability.
Computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Bi and Outlook.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to deliver under pressure and to travel for business.
