Job Description
The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting independent, objective assessments of Posta Uganda’s financial, operational, and compliance processes. The auditor ensures the organization’s internal controls are effective, risks are appropriately managed, and the company's operations are run efficiently and in compliance with regulations and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development of the annual audit plan by identifying key risk areas.
Plan and execute internal audit engagements, including financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.
Conduct risk assessments to determine the scope of audits and establish detailed audit programs.
Prepare audit working papers that comply with professional standards and guidelines.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
Analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
Identify areas for improvement in systems, policies, procedures, and workflows.
Recommend cost-effective measures to mitigate risks and enhance controls.
Review the company’s adherence to legal regulations and internal policies.
Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant laws, standards, and guidelines (e.g., tax laws, financial reporting standards).
Ensure that management is implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives in areas of non-compliance.

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), ACCA, CPA, or other relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
At least 3 years of progressive experience in internal auditing, risk management, or compliance in a large organization.
Experience in financial and operational auditing is essential.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards for auditing and compliance.
