Job Description
As an Information Security Engineer at Sporty Group, you will work closely with project teams to design and enforce secure workflows and infrastructure. You will be responsible for securing networks, systems, and applications, conducting audits, and deploying new security tools and best practices. The role involves addressing cybersecurity challenges with creative, cost-effective solutions, and contributing to a strong security culture across the organization.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Engineer, implement and monitor robust security systems and tools
Develop best practices and security standards
Build secure workflows, services, and systems across teams
Perform regular audits and security assessments
Discover and mitigate security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10 and beyond)
Write technical reports with findings and recommendations
Conduct internal and external security testing
Handle cybersecurity, hardware, and infrastructure support
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on security technologies and best practices

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
3+ years of experience in a Security Engineer role or similar
Strong coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, Shell Script, Python)
Solid understanding of database and OS security
Familiarity with vulnerabilities like SQLi, XSS, CSRF, SSRF, etc.
Experience with tools such as BurpSuite, NMAP, Metasploit, WireShark
Familiarity with authentication technologies (OAuth, SAML, etc.)
Network and system security experience
Strong written and spoken English
Desirable:
Cybersecurity certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, GSEC
Project management certifications: PMP, ISO 27001 LA
