Job Description

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, in the Water Purification Industry, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced Human Resource Manager to work in Uganda.

Job summary
The Human Resource Manager will play a critical role in building and maintaining a vibrant work environment. As the HR Manager, you will oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws, focusing on cultivating a positive culture that engages and motivates our primarily young workforce. The HR Manager will also support the company’s growth by ensuring alignment between HR strategy and overall business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Staff acquisition & recruitment; Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract skilled candidates. Lead the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, onboarding, and orientation.

  • Employee relations: Foster a positive working environment that encourages open communication and teamwork. Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and resolve conflicts.

  • Organize team-building activities, workshops, and events to enhance morale.

  • Performance management & development; Design and manage performance appraisal systems, providing regular feedback.

  • Implement career development and training programs to upskill employees.

  • Support the professional growth of young employees through mentoring and coaching initiatives.

  • HR policies & compliance; Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

  • Regularly update and communicate HR policies and procedures.

  • Manage employee records, contracts, and documentation in accordance with legal standards.

  • Collaborate with management to anticipate workforce needs and plan for future growth.

  • Implement strategies to minimize turnover and maximize employee satisfaction.

  • Lead diversity and inclusion initiatives to promote a balanced, equitable workplace.

  • HR strategy & organizational development; Align HR strategies with the overall company vision and goals.

  • Provide strategic input on organizational structure, culture, and employee engagement.

  • Use HR metrics and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR initiatives and make improvements where necessary.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of Ugandan labor laws and HR compliance.

  • Proven experience in managing young teams or working in an environment with younger employees.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to work independently and under minimum supervision.

  • Leadership and mentorship abilities, with a strong focus on team dynamics.

  • High levels of emotional intelligence and the ability to manage a diverse, young workforce. A proactive, problem-solving attitude


Added Advantage:

  • Experience in the water purification or technology sector is an advantage.

  • Previous experience managing HR in a service-based or maintenance-oriented company.
