Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching History, Life Orientation, and Tourism to FET Phase learners. This includes planning lessons, managing classroom discipline, assessing learner progress, and participating in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The teacher will also be expected to contribute to school administration, uphold academic standards, and participate in professional development. Experience with IEB curriculum and a dedication to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment are essential.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan, control, and assess learning outcomes
Record and report on student assessments
Attend grade/phase meetings, forums, and workshops
Foster a stimulating and supportive classroom atmosphere
Manage school equipment and classroom resources
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective academic delivery
Participate in school sport, culture, and extracurricular activities
Promote and maintain classroom discipline
Assist with school events, sports, and administrative tasks as required
Uphold and contribute to the school’s values, mission, and ethos

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Recognized academic and professional teaching qualification
Relevant experience teaching History, Life Orientation, and Tourism at FET level
Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)
Experience with IEB curriculum is an advantage
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for education
Clear criminal record
