Sawa Energy empowers East Africa’s small and medium businesses by reducing electricity pricing and volatility. We build, own, and operate solar systems for our clients, enabling them to go solar and save money without any upfront costs.
We aim to become the largest private provider of solar power and seek to deploy 50MW by 2030, supporting 1,000 clients.
Sawa Energy was founded by three environmentally and socially conscious entrepreneurs, who bring significant experience in Solar, Finance, and doing business in Africa.

Sawa Energy is recruiting an ambitious and energetic professional to support the operations of the company, and will help execute the company’s vision to lead the revolution of reliable, renewable, green energy efficiency solutions for SMEs in East Africa. Given that Sawa Energy is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.

  • The Head of Finance & Administration at Sawa Energy is responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

  • The Head of Finance & Administration also leads the budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing processes, as well as manages the human resources, procurement, and IT functions.

  • At least five years of experience in a senior financial or administrative role, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a similar industry.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, taxation, and risk management.

  • Proficient in using accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.

  • High ethical standards and integrity.
