Equity Bank Uganda Limited, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the central bank and national banking regulator.
Equity Bank is one of the fastest growing banks in Uganda, with a large network of 50 branches, 7,000+ EquiDuukas, 1,279 POS Terminal and 50+ ATMs spread across the country. 25 of these branches are located in Central and greater Kampala, serving over 1,800,000 customers. The Bank has deployed a number of Alternate Business Channels to enhance its product and service delivery. Job Description
Job Title: Head of Corporate Banking

The job holder is responsible for leading the growth of liabilities and assets as per set targets and manage the corporate relationships within the agreed parameters, be accountable for leading the banks eco system plus originating and managing the relationships with corporate clients and Institutions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Advise and give strategic term business goals in an effective and efficient manner.
Develop strategic collaborative partnerships to maximize and add value to the growth of the bank while mitigating the risk and exposure of its target market
Ensure that the strategy, business plans, budgets along with the policies / procedures are timely communicated to the respective business units
Establish an effective and efficient sales and service platform to achieve business performance in line with the Bank’s strategy and policies
Manage the development and subsequent implementation of best practices across all activities / operations to promote efficiencies in work processes, ultimately resulting in increased customer satisfaction
Responsible for delivering corporate business growth plan, including the development of budgets, and providing quarterly updates, execution, revisions and modifications to the Plan.
Originate, maintain and develop relationships in the corporate Market & Lead Eco system projects
Work with the head of products to devise and agree product and sales mix.
Responsible for controlling costs to within agreed budget of Corporate Segment
Define and develop a service-based sales culture.
Manage a corporate loan book within parameters provided by Risk Management / Management /Board
Cross sell Structured Trade, Treasury and Payment products through building Eco systems
Analyze, recommend and implement market intelligence and marketing plans in order to meet Corporate strategic objectives
Assess market conditions, recommend, implement and monitor corporate strategy in order to gain and sustain competitive edge and results.
Ensure compliance to policies and procedures (Anti Money laundering, KYC and CDD procedures etc.) to minimize financial losses and adhere to standards
Ensure that credit risk is managed across different portfolios of products and within the segments with regular reporting on performance
Establish contact, rapport and credibility with prospective clients to influence key decision makers to start a relationship with the Centenary Bank.
Manage the development and subsequent implementation of market best practices across all activities / operations comprising the Corporate and Institutional Banking Department

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized University.
A postgraduate/ master’s degree in a Business-related field will be an added advantage.
At least 10-15 years of relevant banking experience, preferably with at least 5 years at a senior managerial position in Corporate banking.
Understanding of the relevant laws, regulations and practices pertaining to Corporate Banking products.
Personal integrity, self-motivation and self-management.
Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.
Analytical business and investment appraisal Skills
Business Development Skills, Customer service skills, Relationship/People Management Skills, Negotiation Skills, Leadership skills, Marketing, Selling and Strong Credit analysis skills.
High standards of confidentiality and ethics to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
