Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Limited is a limited liability company solely owned by the Government of Uganda (GOU). It was established under Section 42 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development, and Production) Act and Section 7 of the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream Storage) Act, both of 2013. It was incorporated under the Companies Act of 2012 as a limited liability company on June 12th, 2015.

Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Limited was established under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda.
The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State's commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
UNOC now invites applications from persons interested to develop their career with a dynamic and results-oriented Company to occupy the following position.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive national content strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives and target audience.
Set goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for content performance and monitor progress.
Content Creation and Management:
Oversee the production of various types of content, including written, visual, audio, and video materials.
Ensure content is engaging, accurate, and consistent with brand voice and standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage a team of content creators, editors, and other staff involved in content production.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to foster their professional growth.
Editorial Oversight:
Review and approve content to ensure it meets quality standards and is free of errors.
Maintain editorial calendars and ensure timely delivery of content.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with marketing, communications, and other departments to integrate content strategy with overall business objectives.
Coordinate with external partners, such as freelance writers, agencies, and media outlets.
Audience Engagement and Analysis:
Analyze audience data and feedback to understand content effectiveness and preferences.
Use insights to refine content strategies and improve engagement.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the content budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Approve expenditures related to content production and distribution.
Compliance and Ethics:
Ensure all content complies with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as ethical standards.
Address any issues related to copyright, plagiarism, and content accuracy.
Innovation and Trends:
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content creation and distribution.
Implement innovative approaches to keep the content strategy fresh and effective.
Performance Reporting:
Prepare and present reports on content performance, including metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversion rates.
Use data to make informed decisions and adjustments to content strategies.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications in content strategy, digital media, or related areas are advantageous.
Experience:
Extensive experience in content creation, management, and strategy, preferably in a senior role.
Proven track record of managing large-scale content projects and leading content teams.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), digital analytics tools, and content creation software.
Strong understanding of SEO, social media platforms, and digital marketing.
Leadership and Management Skills:
Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
Excellent project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Creative and Editorial Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to create compelling and high-quality content across various formats.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Attention to Detail:
High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in content.
Ability to manage complex projects with multiple components.
Adaptability and Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to manage unexpected challenges and opportunities.
