The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is a statutory body established under the Communications Act 2013 to regulate the Telecommunications, Data communications, Broadcasting, Postal and Radio communications and Infrastructure. To achieve this mandate, UCC seeks to recruit individuals with proven skills and competencies to fill the vacant positions below to assist the Commission implement its mandate.
Job Purpose:
To oversee and Implement regulatory frameworks and Interventions that promote fair and effective competition, protect and promote consumer Interests in the communications sector, and ensure compliance with the Commission's mandate.
Develop and guide the implementation of regulatory frameworks to promote competition within the communications sector.
Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of the competition landscape, providing recommendations for regulatory adjustments and policy development.
Perform audits on licensees to assess their compliance with consumer protection and competition standards.
Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, focusing on competition issues within the communications sector.
Participate in the preparation and implementation of the Commission's strategic and business plans in alignment with its mission and vision.
Guide the production of market intelligence reports, ensuring timely insights into market performance and competitive dynamics.
Manage and review the performance of direct reports, assigning tasks effectively, setting development goals, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Maintain flexibility to accommodate any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Education and Professional Qualifications
Master's degree in Economics, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
Membership in a relevant professional body.
Working Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in competition policy, regulatory affairs, or a similar field, with three (3) years managerial experience.
