Job Title: Graphic Facilitator and Mentor (Fresher Jobs)
Organisation: Women in Technology Uganda (WITU)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Graphic Facilitator and Mentor plays a dual role in both facilitating visual communication processes and mentoring individuals or teams in the effective use of graphic facilitation techniques. This position is responsible for creating compelling, easy-to-understand visual content that helps organizations communicate complex ideas and strategies. Additionally, the role involves mentoring others in graphic facilitation skills, helping them grow their abilities to communicate visually in professional settings.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Graphic Facilitation:
Facilitate live events (e.g., workshops, meetings, conferences) using graphic recording techniques to visually capture discussions, ideas, and key points in real time.
Use hand-drawn illustrations, digital tools, or a combination of both to create clear, engaging visuals that support group understanding and decision-making.
Collaborate with facilitators, speakers, or participants to ensure visuals align with session objectives and key messages.
Ensure visuals are organized, easy to follow, and serve as valuable artifacts for reflection, decision-making, or future reference.
Mentorship and Training:
Mentor junior graphic facilitators or team members, helping them develop and refine their graphic facilitation skills.
Offer coaching and feedback on the visual storytelling process, encouraging creativity and innovation in graphic facilitation.
Develop and deliver workshops or training sessions on graphic facilitation techniques for teams or individuals within the organization.
Provide guidance on the use of graphic facilitation in different contexts, such as strategic planning, brainstorming, and problem-solving.
Design and Creation of Visual Assets:
Design templates, infographics, and other visual tools that can be used for ongoing communication, training, or strategy sessions.
Create visually appealing and informative materials for internal or external use, such as reports, presentations, or marketing content.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with leaders, facilitators, and stakeholders to understand the goals and desired outcomes of each event or project.
Translate complex concepts or discussions into simple, visual formats that are easily digestible by a diverse audience.
Ensure that all graphic content is aligned with the organization’s visual identity and messaging.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on new graphic facilitation tools, techniques, and trends to continuously improve and innovate in your work.
Experiment with new visual techniques and approaches to better serve the needs of the organization or clients.
Evaluate the effectiveness of graphic facilitation in meetings or sessions and make improvements where needed.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
2+ years of graphic design experience.
Proficient in Adobe Suite, XD, Figma, CorelDRAW, Canva.
Skills in typography, color, layout, web design.
UX/UI design and portfolio development.
Creativity, communication, teamwork, adaptability.
Passion for teaching and industry awareness.
