Job Description
The Graduate Trainee - IT Audit Officer will be responsible for supporting the IT audit function by assisting in audits and reviews of systems, applications, and IT processes. The role includes assessing internal controls, compliance with IT policies and regulations, and contributing to risk assessment and data analytics activities. The trainee will gain hands-on experience with IT General Controls (ITGCs), application controls, and cybersecurity evaluations. The role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and develop a strong foundation in IT auditing and systems assurance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in conducting IT audits and reviews of systems, applications, and IT processes
Support evaluation of internal controls and identification of improvement areas
Help assess compliance with regulatory requirements and internal IT policies
Participate in data analytics and IT risk assessments
Assist in preparation of audit working papers and reports
Support testing of ITGCs, application controls, and cybersecurity measures
Collaborate with the internal audit team on integrated audits
Stay informed on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and audit tools
Perform other related tasks as assigned by Internal Audit management
Maintain productive relationships with clients, staff, and management

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Training
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Cyber Security, or related field
Must have obtained at least a First Class or Second Class Upper degree and graduated by January 2025
Basic understanding of IT auditing, cybersecurity, and core IT domains (Networks, Databases, Operating Systems, Infrastructure, Active Directory, etc.)
Certification in CISA, CISM, CEH, or related areas is an added advantage
Skills & Experience
Good report writing skills
Analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High level of professional integrity and commitment to objectives
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Willingness to learn and grow professionally
