The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to distribute electric power to domestic and commercial end-users in Uganda, at and below 33 kiloVolts. This role was sub-leased to Umeme for a 20-year concession that ends in 2025.
Fleet Drivers job at Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL)
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited
To manage and coordinate the maintenance of all Company fleet to ensure that they are always fit for use at all times as per the company policy.
Develop the company fleet policy for UEDCL fleet use.
Analyze the fleet tracking reports and make monthly reports.
Maintain a Database and updated records of all units under UEDCL Fleet.
Plan, Schedule and Coordinate repairs maintenance of all units from territories.
Check the market and advise Management of the best price options for spare parts.
Work with different workshops/ Garages to ensure timely service and billing process.
Prepare quarterly and annual reports on fleet activities in accordance with UEDCL policies and procedures.
To make trouble shooting on the Generator at UEDCL Tower, to ensure that we have steady power supply.
To help in transport function by driving Company cars as and when need arise.
Follow up on Licensing of all fleet and Police issues in case of accidents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Uganda Certificate of Education (“O” level Certificate)
Should hold Motor Vehicle Technician Craft Part II Certificate and demonstrate good knowledge of Petrol and Diesel Engines.
Should hold a valid driving permit.
A certificate in defensive driving is an added advantage.
Experience of not less than 3 years in a recognized organization handling different types of Diesel and Petrol engines (Including motor vehicles).
Should have excellent communication skills at all levels of the company.
He/ She advises and assists all departments to deal with Motor garages.
Will always be on Standby to operate the UEDCL Generator, whenever there is need (Including checking it at least once every week).
Able to drive Company cars and do a number of deliveries to upcountry territories from time to time.
