Job Description
Job Title: Financial Markets – Team Leader, Sales
Organisation: DFCU Bank
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reporting To: Head Global Financial Markets
Reporting to the Head of Global Financial Markets, the role holder will be responsible for implementing the overall sales strategy of global financial markets while managing an active portfolio of high-end clientele by selling the bank’s financial markets products and services. The role holder will work closely with the business units to grow the bank’s client base and wallet share profitably and sustainably and conduct training sessions to raise awareness and understanding of financial market products to help achieve the sales targets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Drive the realization of the bank’s foreign exchange budget by implementing FX sales and marketing strategies, agreeing to individual targets and action plans and monitoring performance against the budget daily, weekly and monthly.
Implement the financial markets product sales plan in line with overall strategic business growth objectives of tapping into and focusing on the country’s large export and import trade flows to make the bank a major provider of innovative treasury and trade products.
Manage, support and grow the Financial Markets sales team to get the best performance from staff.
Ensure all the sales team maintain a “work in progress” pipeline and a client priority call list including new and existing clients
Provide a high level of service and advice to a portfolio of clients setting up visits and engagements with other stakeholders.
Devise and implement local marketing campaigns with the marketing team.
Participate in financial markets product development by providing feedback on client’s preferences and needs as well as contributing ideas on how products can be better packaged and retailed to clients.
Adherence to proper conduct and professional behaviour for all sales staff and enforcement of disciplinary action on deviation from such desired behaviour
Follow the prescribed procedures when dealing with and adhere to the ACI code of conduct.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Business or finance-related degree
ACI certificate
At least 6 years experience in Banking, of which 5 years should be in Financial Markets /Dealing room
A sound knowledge of all Financial Markets products
Strong FX market Knowledge and sales experience are necessary
In-depth knowledge of dealing systems and functions.
Willingness to take measured risks
Broad knowledge of banking practices and local banking regulation
Sales and communication skills
Corporate banking functions
Ability to market and establish client relationships
Good analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to manage and motivate staff
Ability to work in a matrix organisation
