Job Description
Job Title: Financial Controller
Organization: Airtel Uganda
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensures that all internal accounting procedures and policies are sound and in compliance with IFRS and group reporting guidelines.
Implements processes to ensure the right information to set goals, make decisions and monitor performance.
Continually check accounting systems and processes to ensure soundness and adequacy internal controls and propose improvements where necessary.
Coordinates with the Director Finance on all matters of accounting and audit.
Ensures that departments have adequate management controls in place.
Ensure the quality, consistency end of monthly reporting in a timely fashion.
Prepare and submit Management Financial Reports i.e. Annual Statutory Financial Statements.
Contribute to the formulation of annual budget (AOP) and implementation.
Report year-end figures including liaison with external auditors, in order to enable AIRTEL fulfil external reporting obligations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
University degree (Finance, Economics or similar) Qualified accountant (CFA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or similar).
Minimum of 6 years of industry track record mostly gained in international, blue chip environments.
2 years PQE similar position in a FMCG environment, Telecom experience is preferable.
Strong Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
Detail Oriented.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong coaching skills.
Sets high personal standards and is goal oriented.
Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing.
Able to meet tight deadline in output driven organization with minimum supervision
