Responsible for overall leadership of the Finance department strategy and finance staff.
Responsible for overall leadership of the Finance department strategy and finance staff.
Role holder will be responsible for financial planning, management, and control, encompassing statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting.
Strengthening the control environment to ensure the integrity of all financial information, managing, and planning for Mengo Hospital's tax exposure versus sustainability from a compliance and risk perspective.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting. Finance, Business, Commerce or equivalent with a bias in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
Fully qualified in a professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA membership is a MUST)
Master's degree in business administration (MBA) is desirable.
Must be a professing Anglican with evidence of espousal of Church of Uganda (Anglican) principles and values. e) At least 10 years' experience in Finance, 5 of which must be at Senior Management preferable in a busy health care/hospital environment or reputable institution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General and Behavioral
Strong leadership attributes with good communication, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal
skills.
Strong people skills and demonstrable ability to lead and influence team dynamics.
Ability to motivate, supervise and develop others.
Problem solver with strong analytical and numeracy skills.
Proactive self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to operate at strategic level in addition to delivering at an operational level.
Technical
Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Uganda tax legislation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Good computer literacy with excellent use of MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience in use of accounting software and management information skills such as Sage Evolution.
Experience in handling large data and data analytics
Knowledge and experience in hospital/healthcare operations and strategy will be an added advantage.

Innovative and strategic thinker
Clear and effective communication skills.
Must be a person of unquestionable integrity. professionalism, and personal discipline.
Demonstrable ability to mobilize and fundraise resources.
