Finance Manager job at Kijani Forestry
Kijani Forestry
Maintenance of the Internal Control Environment and liaison with external auditors and other relevant external parties. Ensuring financial infrastructure and systems are maintained.
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax database.
Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
Make sure that Kijani complies with local tax regulations.
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports.
Process Purchase Enquiries for purchase requisitions from the User Departments
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarizes the current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements , income tax and other reports.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Ensuring compliance with Company Secretarial and Statutory Requirements, including accounting standards and policies.
Ensuring Group Accounts and performance reporting deadlines and requirements are met. Providing financial and non-financial metrics to the business.
Maintenance of the Internal Control Environment and liaison with external auditors and other relevant external parties. Ensuring financial infrastructure and systems are maintained.
Understand and monitor key financial and control risks and ensure mitigations are in place.
Tax administration & optimization.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Secures financial information by completing database backups.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a similar major is required
A master’s degree is an added advantage
Must be a certified public accountant (CPA)/ACCA
A minimum of five years’ experience in accounting/finance is required
skills:
Knowledge in use of data management and analysis software (STATA, R, Python).
Demonstrated skills in rigorous quantitative and qualitative research and analytical methods.
Excellent ability to articulate oral and written technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven experience in research/study design and implementation, including design and data analysis of quantitative and qualitative studies, rapid appraisals, etc.
Demonstrated hands-on practical experience setting up and managing M&E systems.
Excellent data analytical skills coupled with proven ability in using data innovative approaches and data presentation visuals like graphs, charts, maps, and GIS.
Excellent report writing, and communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
Experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research findings.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to communicate cross-culturally and be sensitive to other cultures.
