Job Description

The Finance Intern will support various financial activities within the EACOP organization, gaining practical experience in financial management, analysis, and reporting in a major infrastructure context. The intern will be involved in financial data handling, budget preparation, invoice processing, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant, the intern will interact with both internal project teams and external construction contractors, ensuring smooth financial operations and documentation.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collect and compile financial data for reports, statements, and presentations.

  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Process invoices and verify expense accuracy.

  • Reconcile financial transactions and maintain proper documentation.

  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documents.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and databases.

  • Archive and file finance-related documents.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Must provide an introduction letter from the university and a copy of student I.D.

  • Must submit a partial transcript/testimonial showing current academic scores with a minimum of an upper-second class degree.

  • Availability to work full-time throughout the internship period.

  • Must submit a formal internship application letter.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.

  • Adaptable and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.
