About the Organisation
Through the Forest and Biodiversity program, WWF-Uganda is working with partners (Government Ministries, Agencies, Local Governments, Private Sector and communities) to conserve the integrity of Uganda's protected areas and habitats on private land. This is being done with a balanced mix of forest and wildlife policy, expansion of forest estate, good governance and community livelihoods interventions.
FEATURED PROJECT
The overall objective of the project is that by 2025, rural livelihoods are improved and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced through widespread access to clean and renewable sources of energy in Uganda.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is one of the largest independent conservation organizations in the world. We are an international NGO committed to environmental protection active in almost 100 countries. WWF has a growing conservation Programme in the Republic of Uganda. WWF Uganda Country Office (WWF UCO) works with central and local government agencies, private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs) and the local communities to implement its various conservation programmes on Energy and Climate, Forestry and Wildlife, and Freshwater in Uganda.

Job Description
Job Title: Finance Department Intern (No Experience NGO Jobs)
Organisation: World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Finance Manager
The Finance Intern will act as a support function to the Finance Department. This will provide him/her unique opportunities for learning outside of academic settings and expose new tasks and specific skills to complete those tasks, gain practical experience with real world ethical principles of professionalism, people, projects and technology, that may relate to their career goals.
He /she will be responsible to assist in day-to-day activities and specifically work in the following areas:
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Assist in filing and archiving manual files, reorganizing current year files by project and document classification, and filing documents for the current period.
Create an online archive for Finance vouchers.
Verify the mobile money (Beyonic) funds transfer requests and upload them for payment.
Provide support in maintaining an updated online payment tracker (received and processed status) and follow up with procurement office for outstanding payments.
Carry out supplier account reconciliations for Beyonic transactions and compilations of monthly VAT refund documentation for submission to URA.
Support in retrieval of documents during audits and expense verifications.
Support in Data entry in Oracle

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
A University Degree in Accounting/finance or a related field preferably with a CGPA of 4.0 and above.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, particularly advanced level in MS excel is required.
Strong ability to prioritize work within tight timelines and multi-task.
Good team player with strong inter-personal skills demonstrated by the ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
High ethics and a personal commitment to transparency and accountability.
Adherence to WWF’s values, which are: Courage, Integrity, Respect and Collaboration.
