Job Description
The Field Officer (MEAL) will coordinate and monitor project activities, ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards, facilitate information sharing among stakeholders, and collect and report data. The officer will support the project's feedback and response mechanisms, participate in building the capacity of community representatives, monitor volunteer activities, and contribute to learning and reflection on project implementation. The role demands frequent travel within the assigned districts and occasional travel to Kampala.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support coordination and monitoring of project activities at field level.
Ensure timely implementation according to the detailed activity plan.
Promote adherence to MEAL systems for quality project implementation.
Facilitate communication and information sharing between project teams, partners, and communities.
Support the feedback and response mechanism to address concerns raised by community members.
Assist in the organization of capacity-building events for community representatives.
Coordinate, monitor, and report on volunteer MEAL activities.
Collect community-level data and contribute to project reporting and learning.
Foster community interest and participation in project activities.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree is an advantage.
Four years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation.
Must possess a valid rider’s license (Class "A").
Experience in monitoring agroforestry projects is an added advantage.
Computer literacy is required.
Ability to communicate in English and any local languages.
Willingness and ability to travel 80% of the time within districts and 20% occasionally to Kampala.
Good observation, active listening, analysis, and judgment skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
