About the Organisation
The government of the Republic of Uganda was allocated grant funds (the "Grant) from the World Bank which are administered by the International Development Association (IDA) (the "Bank") towards implementation of the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project.
The Project Development Objective is to increase access to entrepreneurial services that enable women entrepreneurs to grow their enterprises in targeted locations, including host and refugee communities. The ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development (MGLSD) is the lead implementing Agency with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda as an implementing Entity.
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) is a government institution in Uganda, dedicated to improving the lives of citizens through gender equality initiatives, social development projects, and the empowerment of vulnerable populations. The Ministry oversees various programs aimed at the welfare and development of Ugandans.

Job Description
The Field Monitoring Assistant will assist in monitoring and evaluating project activities, helping collect and verify data related to project outputs and outcomes. They will prepare monthly and quarterly reports, participate in M&E field visits, coordinate data collection for surveys and beneficiary assessments, and support the training of project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation practices. The role also involves maintaining records, identifying lessons learned, and participating in meetings with various stakeholders, including local government and World Bank teams.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports and submit them to the M&E Specialist and Project Coordinator.
Participate in field visits to collect and verify data on project implementation, outputs, and outcomes.
Support in conducting training and workshops related to monitoring and evaluation for staff and partners.
Coordinate and supervise data collection for surveys, beneficiary assessments, and other studies.
Enter data into the project’s Management Information System (MIS).
Maintain accurate documentation related to M&E activities.
Identify lessons learned and include them in project reports.
Participate in meetings with MGLSD, implementing agencies, local government PITs, and the World Bank team, and document the outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the M&E Specialist and Regional Project Officer.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.
At least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in a public or private institution.
Proven skills in MS Excel, Statistical Packages, MS Word, and internet applications.
Ability to work independently with little supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, able to present complex issues clearly and engagingly.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and planning abilities.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
