Job Description
As a Field Electrical Engineer under the VIE program, you will work on rotation following an integration period at the Dar Es Salaam office. Your role will involve field-based technical support for electrical engineering installations, equipment testing, troubleshooting, and overall supervision of on-site electrical work. You will also collaborate with contractors and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety policies.
Key responsibilities include managing on-site electrical installations, participating in risk assessments, resolving design clashes, preparing documentation, and facilitating effective communication between multidisciplinary teams.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Promote a safety culture and enforce adherence to HSE policies on-site
Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
Support electrical troubleshooting activities
Identify and resolve field design issues and implement corrective actions
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
Assist in preparing As-Built Documentation and technical operating procedures

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Energies Engineering
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of HV and LV electricity systems
Knowledge of control systems and electrical network equipment
Previous experience in electrical works is an added advantage
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for schematics and drawings
Experience with Power BI for data management
Languages
English (C1)
French (C1)
