Job Description
The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities & Construction Supervisor and is responsible for performing routine and specialized maintenance tasks across hospital facilities. This includes repairs and maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, grounds, construction work, and equipment management. The technician will manage work requests, participate in planned maintenance programs, and work alongside external contractors when necessary. The role also involves supporting educational, spiritual, and occupational health and safety functions at the hospital.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, furniture, water systems, and non-medical equipment.
Maintain inventory and records for facilities and equipment.
Manage and prioritize work requests and communicate progress to department supervisors.
Conduct on-call maintenance and emergency repairs.
Assist in designing and implementing solutions for maintenance challenges.
Help procure and account for maintenance supplies.
Train others in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and diagnose issues.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools.
Comply with safety and cleanliness regulations.
Participate in the hospital’s spiritual ministry programs.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Civil Engineering
Computer literacy, including use of MS Office and architectural drawings
Experience:
Estate management
Installation and troubleshooting of plumbing and water systems
Electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and construction work
Skills and Competencies:
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to learn and apply new maintenance procedures
High level of integrity and honesty
Calm under pressure and flexible with working hours
Proactive, meticulous, and detail-oriented
