Job Description
The Environment Graduate Trainee will work with the environmental team to support the implementation of EACOP’s environmental protection strategies. This includes participating in environmental assessments, data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagements, and compliance reporting. The trainee will assist in the development and monitoring of Environmental Management Plans and facilitate community awareness on sustainability and environmental stewardship.
This opportunity offers early-career professionals hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, policy application, and cross-sectoral collaboration in one of the region’s most important infrastructure projects.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct environmental assessments and participate in biodiversity monitoring along the pipeline route.
Collect and analyze data on flora, fauna, and environmental impacts.
Support the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans.
Facilitate community awareness campaigns and environmental stewardship initiatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders including government bodies such as NEMA and NFA.
Maintain environmental data records and prepare regular compliance and sustainability reports.
Participate in environmental research projects and stay updated on new trends and best practices.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Knowledge of environmental regulations, EIA processes, and sustainability standards.
Strong data collection, analytical, and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Keen interest in biodiversity conservation, environmental protection, and sustainability.
