Providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or other healthcare professionals, including administering medications, dressing wounds, assisting with personal hygiene, and monitoring vital signs.
Patient Care: Providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or other healthcare professionals, including administering medications, dressing wounds, assisting with personal hygiene, and monitoring vital signs.
Assessment: Conducting basic patient assessments, including collecting health history, performing physical examinations, and documenting patient observations.
Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, following established protocols and safety guidelines for medication administration.
Wound Care: Assisting with wound care, dressing changes, and the application of topical medications or ointments as directed by healthcare providers.
Patient Education: Providing patients and their families with information on healthcare procedures, medication instructions, self-care techniques, and preventive measures to promote health and well-being.
Documentation: Recording accurate and detailed patient information, including nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration records, and progress notes in electronic health records (EHRs) or paper charts.
Assisting with Procedures: Assisting healthcare providers with medical procedures, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic interventions, such as blood draws, IV insertions, catheterizations, and nasogastric tube placements.
Monitoring: Monitoring patients' condition and response to treatment, including monitoring vital signs, assessing pain levels, and recognizing signs of complications or adverse reactions to medications.
Collaboration: Collaborating with registered nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care, develop care plans, and ensure continuity of care.
Safety and Infection Control: Adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards to maintain a safe and clean healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
