Job Description
The Electrician will be responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and systems. They will ensure continuous electrical supply, coordinate with third-party service contractors, and support maintenance through the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The position also involves compliance with electrical safety standards, supporting biomedical equipment maintenance, conducting training (CMEs – Continuing Medical Education), and participating in hospital spiritual activities and departmental meetings. This role requires on-site presence with occasional calls during weekends, nights, and holidays.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and wiring.
Interpret technical blueprints, manuals, and diagrams.
Maintain and manage tools and electrical inventory.
Conduct inspections and schedule maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including generators and UPS systems.
Coordinate third-party contractors and assist in procurement of electrical supplies.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance.
Document maintenance activities using CMMS.
Conduct CME sessions for users of electrical systems.
Participate in departmental and co-workers’ meetings.
Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship.
Champion electrical safety and ensure compliance with national codes and internal standards.
Participate in hospital’s spiritual ministry activities.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Experience
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
At least 5 years of work experience in a similar role
Experience with CMMS software is an added advantage
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Sound knowledge of electrical systems, including generators and solar power
Familiarity with safety procedures and national electrical codes
Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Fluency in English and local languages
