About the Organisation
Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Limited is a limited liability company solely owned by the Government of Uganda (GOU). It was established under Section 42 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development, and Production) Act and Section 7 of the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream Storage) Act, both of 2013. It was incorporated under the Companies Act of 2012 as a limited liability company on June 12th, 2015.
The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd was established under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State’s commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.

Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Organisation: Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Electrical Engineering Lead
To provide day to day technical supervision to UNOC project works, ensuring that electrical works are in line with standards and the plan while adhering to QHSSE standards in the oil and gas sector.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Work closely with other Project Engineers to ensure all Project objectives and key indicators are achieved in a safe manner.
Coordinate and supervise installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on electrical and power distribution systems, HVAC systems etc.
Determine scope of work for individual projects, develop Electrical drawings in-line with agreed design criteria, generate bills of quantities and draft cost estimates to support the processes of selection and project feasibility analysis.
Conduct structured risk assessments for Electrical works and draw up plans for ensuring that the risks are proactively managed during the execution of the Electrical works.
Complete all necessary job assessments and/or permits, time sheets and other documentation as required.
Ensure all paperwork is available and that it has been reviewed and understood before setting out to Site.
Identify and address any changes to scope, investigate the problems and provide engineering solutions to support the planning and execution stages of the project.
Site walk-through and planning for installation process.
Record any changes to scope and “as build” drawings as agreed by line manager.
On-sight supervision/management of construction sites.
Actively participate in job inspections to identify and follow up to address non-conformities in-line with the technical quality recommendations.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Job Qualifications:
An honours Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
Knowledge and Experience:
Must have at least 4 years relevant working experience in the petroleum or manufacturing or construction industry or other reputable organization.
Character & Competencies:
Knowledge of safety procedures and standards.
Knowledge of project management techniques.
Technical knowledge of Electrical construction projects.
Proficient in project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Computer knowledge with applications like AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, MS excel, word and power point.
Ability to write, read and comprehend drawings and plans.
