Job Description
The Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager within the International Real Estate team and manage key components of facilities projects related to office acquisition, design, and construction. The role involves coordinating various stakeholders across HQ and Country Offices, supporting contract and project management, and ensuring that construction projects align with WBG standards, budgets, and timelines. The position covers active construction projects in Kinshasa and may extend to other locations such as Abidjan and Johannesburg.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver the assigned work program under the direction of senior project management.
Provide technical support for World Bank office development and construction projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate local expertise and ensure project alignment with needs.
Develop project programs and mobilize necessary resources.
Assist in real estate lease or purchase negotiations and review lease terms.
Set and manage project budgets and schedules.
Coordinate planning, design, construction, and procurement processes.
Supervise consultants, contractors, and vendors involved in design and construction.
Prepare presentations and reports for staff, senior management, and governance bodies.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans to remain within scope and budget.
Ensure timely and cost-effective project completion and occupancy.
Process invoices and maintain accurate project documentation.
Oversee post-occupancy evaluations and follow-up.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
Proven Project Management experience; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is an asset.
In-depth knowledge of building systems, construction, and sustainable design.
Familiarity with interior design theory and practices.
Experience with procurement of goods, works, and services.
International project experience in developing countries, especially Africa, preferred.
Prior experience in an international organization is advantageous.
Proficiency in English (written and oral) required; French is an asset, particularly for Kinshasa/Abidjan projects.
Strong negotiation and strategic planning skills.
