Job Description
The successful candidates will be responsible for driving company vehicles to transport staff and materials, conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining logbooks, and performing other transport-related duties. They will be expected to demonstrate excellent driving skills, a good understanding of vehicle maintenance, and a high level of professionalism when dealing with staff, partners, and the public.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Drive the assigned office vehicle for official purposes, including field operations and staff transportation.
Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition at all times.
Deliver official mail and documents as assigned.
Regularly check the mechanical condition of the vehicle before any journey.
Maintain a detailed logbook of fuel consumption, journeys made, and other relevant vehicle records.
Monitor the service mileage of the vehicle to ensure timely routine servicing.
Keep track of the vehicle’s insurance (third party and comprehensive) and ensure timely renewals.
Perform any other transport-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a pass in English and Mathematics.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Driver in Government or a reputable organization.
Valid driving permit with Class B and CM held for more than three years.
Certificate in defensive driving and training in road safety.
Certificate of Competence from Ministry of Works and Transport is an added advantage.
Sound knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and mechanical functionality.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent time management, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate physical strength where necessary.
