The organization provides vocational training, supports small businesses, and promotes savings and loans groups to help families generate income and improve their livelihoods. By enhancing economic opportunities, Plan International helps to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life for children and their communities.
In times of disaster and conflict, Plan International responds with emergency relief efforts, providing essential supplies, medical care, and psychosocial support to affected populations. Their disaster risk reduction programs also help communities build resilience and prepare for future emergencies.
Plan International places a strong emphasis on advocacy and campaigning to influence policy changes and mobilize support for children's rights and gender equality. The organization's "Because I am a Girl" campaign is a notable example, raising awareness and driving action to address the unique challenges faced by girls around the world.

Plan International
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries. We won’t stop until we are all equal.
