Abt Associate
As the Director of Program for the Uganda PMI Evolve project, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of IRS and entomological activities initiatives aimed at controlling vector-borne diseases such as malaria. You will be a dynamic leader with experience in public health programs, vector control, and project management. This position will be based in Kampala with travel to the field office in Tororo, District.
Program Management
Lead the strategic planning and implementation of the IRS and Entomological program.
Develop and oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with national and international IRS and Entomological guidelines and standards.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise project staff, including field teams and technical experts.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with government agencies (MOH, NMED), International and local NGOs, and community organizations to ensure alignment and support.
Represent the project in meetings, conferences, and public forums.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project effectiveness.
Analyze data to inform decision-making and improve project outcomes.
Prepare and present reports to donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
Compliance and Safety
Ensure all IRS activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.
Oversee the procurement and proper handling of IRS chemicals and equipment.
Address and resolve any issues or incidents related to project implementation.
Budget and Resource Management
Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Monitor expenditures and financial reporting.
Identify and secure additional funding or resources as needed.

Master's degree in public health, Environmental Science, Vector Biology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in program management, with a focus on vector control, Entomology or similar public health projects. Prior experience managing IRS programs is highly desirable.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
Ability to work in challenging and dynamic environments.
Relevant certifications in project management, public health, or vector control are a plus.
The role may require travel to remote or underserved areas.
Flexibility in working hours may be needed to meet project demands.
