Job Title: Digital Channels, Agency Banking and Absa Wallet Support (Fresher Jobs)
Organisation: ABSA Bank
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The role profile for Digital Channels, Agency Banking, and Absa Wallet Support in Uganda encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the bank’s digital services and expanding its customer base. This role also involves monitoring, resolving and being a single point of contact for all issues Agency banking and wallet related issues raised on this platform.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide support for wallet-related issues/ complaints, resolving technical problems efficiently.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving Wallet and Agency banking issues such as complaints from customers and also technical failures by coordinating with centre teams.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on Wallet and Agency banking configurations, processes, and maintenance schedules.
Provide regular reports on applications performance, security, and backups.
Provide regular reports on issues closure/actions pending and any requiring escalation
Collaboration:
Collaborate with 3rd line support teams, data analysts, and IT teams to ensure high availability and resolution of incidents raised
Digital Wallet Strategy and Execution:
Develop and implement strategies to drive the growth of Absa’s digital wallet services, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
Oversee the execution of growth initiatives, focusing on customer-centric digital products and services.
Monitor business performance, applying intervention strategies to achieve growth objectives.
Build strategic partnerships to deliver innovative solutions for customers.
Ensure adherence to governance and control requirements, maintaining a satisfactory operational environment.
Performs any other work-related tasks as may be allocated through the department leadership.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with customers, strategic partners, and development teams to create unique selling propositions that enhance market share.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to effectively implement the digital wallet strategy.
Work with marketing teams to execute go-to-market strategies, utilizing appropriate marketing and communication channels.
Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies like the Bank of Uganda.
Accountability:
Test Management
Responsibility is to ensure that proper testing occurs for all servers and hosts, and related changes released into the production environments as assigned to you by Line Management
Key Activities
Work closely with Release Analysts
Be part of Back and Restoration tests.
Play a key role in Disaster recovery test activities whenever scheduled
Review releases and assign appropriate release testing tasks
Compile and review the Testing Deliverables
Conduct installation procedure tests
Participate in functional, performance, and integration testing results
Coordinate user acceptance testing
Coordinate back out testing
Conduct supporting documentation review
Compile test results
Conduct release test review
Coordinate post release testing
Validate and communicate results of testing activities
Accountability: Risk Management
Build relationship with country IT Risk and Governance team and provide support wherever required.
Contribute and deliver to the improvement of the risk profile by delivering improved governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
The successful candidate must have experience in, and be able to -:-
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.
At least 2 years work experience in a similar capacity, demonstrating a proven track record in digital wallet management or hands-on experience in resolving technical incidents in I.T.
A background in commercial banking and creating strategies for business growth.
Experience in implementing go-to-market strategies and monitoring execution is also important.
Exposure to the Banking/ ICT Industry
A good understanding of technology strategic issues in the banking or financial services sector
Communicate effectively with business analysts, project leadership, architects, developers and others across the organization
Work collaboratively across the business and IT communities by working cooperatively with others to accomplish department and project objectives
Be seen as a team player that exhibits critical thinking and confidence and has credibility across the project team
Thin/Slim client technologies, Desktop hardware and associated peripherals
ITIL certification.
Prior knowledge and experience in managing digital platforms such as wallets and Agency banking platforms.
Education
Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
