Job Description
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable infrastructure across AWS, Kubernetes, and other platforms. The role includes improving CI/CD pipelines, automating system operations, leading incident management efforts, and ensuring compliance with security and performance standards. The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior DevOps engineers, contributing to the continuous improvement of the technology environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management:
Design and manage scalable infrastructure on AWS, Hetzner, and Kubernetes.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, etc.
CI/CD Pipeline Development:
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI and CodeDeploy.
Automate deployments and testing processes.
Monitoring and Incident Management:
Set up and maintain monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
Security and Compliance:
Implement best practices in security and compliance (IAM, firewalls, WAFs).
Integrate security testing into CI/CD processes.
Collaboration and Mentoring:
Work with development and QA teams for seamless deployments.
Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices.
Automation and Tooling:
Create automation scripts in Python, Bash, etc.
Improve processes like backups, recovery, and upgrades.
Reporting and System Design:
Lead design and implementation of system architectures.
Support product deployment and delivery improvements.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
3+ years' experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized applications
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, CodeDeploy, CircleCI)
Solid Linux system administration skills
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, ELK, Graylog)
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
Strong problem-solving and incident management capabilities
Proficiency in Git and Agile development workflows
Preferred:
Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ
Experience with HashiCorp Vault, OWASP, security frameworks
Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies
Languages:
English (required)
French (added advantage)
