Job Description
The DBA will design, install, configure, and maintain database systems supporting institutional applications. This includes performance tuning, database security, report generation, and user support. The DBA will also manage database access, ensure data backup and recovery, implement security protocols, and contribute to capacity planning and performance optimization.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Design and document database architecture
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
Monitor and optimize performance of database servers
Set and maintain database standards and policies
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
Implement and manage database security and encryption
Develop database automation scripts and manage access controls
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance operations
Backup, restore, and recover corrupted databases
Develop and test disaster recovery plans
Create and distribute reports and dashboards
Evaluate and recommend emerging database technologies
Provide end-user support and training
Attend relevant trainings, seminars, and meetings
Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration
Advanced experience in MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB
Certifications: MySQL DBA, MCSE DBA, Oracle Associate (required)
Proficiency in SQL and server tools
Experience in Oracle Enterprise version 12c and SQL Server 2008+
Familiarity with Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Unix Shell)
Knowledge of SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Customer service-oriented with strong public relations skills
