Database Administrator job at Centenary Bank
Centenary Bank
Responsible for the integrity and security of the database. Plan and develop the database, as well as troubleshoot any issues on behalf of the users.
Develop, manage, and test back-up and recovery plans
Ensure that archiving procedures are functioning correctly
Establish the needs of users and monitor database user access, permissions, privileges, and security.
Maintain data standards, including adherence to the ICT policy
Manage and fine tune the databases to minimize database downtime and to provide fast responses.
Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of databases.
Monitor database performance, implement changes, apply, and test new patches and versions when required in line with ICT policy.
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.

Bachelors IT/Computer Science/statistics/Engineering (Hons)
ITIL
Any Microsoft database related certification, Oracle database certification, Data Science, Machine Learning and Analytics Professional Certification
Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
Required Experience and Competences:
• Two (2) years’ experience in a role related to design, development, and delivery of enterprise database management in a large financial institution or a reputable organization
