Job Description

The USAID Local Partner Health Services East Central - Transition award to Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) Activity is a project of Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) funded by USAID
MJAP was granted this PEPFAR funding Award to support public health facilities and their communities in 12 districts and Jinja City that include Bugiri, Bugweri Busia, Buyende, Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, Kaliro, Luuka, Mayuge, Namayingo and Namutumba; to implement quality Integrated HIV/AIDS and TB services and contribute to the attainment and sustenance of epidemic control.

MJAP holds a zero-tolerance policy against Fraud, Corruption, Sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment in all places where our programs are implemented. All MJAP employees are expected to maintain high ethical standards, protect organizational integrity and reputation,
and ensure that MJAP work is conducted in honest and fair methods, in accordance with the MJAP Human Resource policies. Any policy Violations shall be subject to corrective action up to and including termination of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Entry:

  • Accurately enter data into computer systems and databases.

  • Ensure all data is entered in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Verify and correct data entries as necessary.


Data Management:

  • Maintain and update databases with new information.

  • Organize and store data in an easily accessible format.

  • Retrieve data as required for reports and analysis.


Data Quality Assurance:

  • Review data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Identify and correct data errors or inconsistencies.

  • Implement data validation and cleansing processes.


Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data entry activities.

  • Ensure all documentation is filed and stored correctly.

  • Keep records of data changes and updates.


Reporting and Documentation:

  • Generate reports and summaries from databases as requested.

  • Document data entry procedures and update as necessary.

  • Provide support for data-related audits and reviews.

Qualifications and Competencies

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or coursework in data management, information technology, or a related field are advantageous.


Experience:

  • Previous experience in data entry or data management roles is preferred.

  • Familiarity with data management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL databases) is beneficial.


Skills:

  • Strong typing and data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Basic understanding of database management systems.


Communication Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.


Technical Proficiency:

  • Comfortable using computers and various data entry software.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for data-related issues.
