Job Description
The Customer Service Officer will engage with customers to understand their needs, offer product recommendations, and provide a positive shopping experience. Key responsibilities include maintaining product knowledge, processing orders through the POS system, assisting customers with payment methods, handling returned merchandise, upselling and cross-selling complementary products, and encouraging customer feedback. The role also involves maintaining professionalism, adhering to company dress codes, following security and data privacy regulations, and participating in regular training sessions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and engage in friendly conversations to build rapport.
Actively listen to customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Create a comfortable shopping atmosphere for customers.
Capture customer information (KYC) for new customers.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of product features and functionalities.
Confidently demonstrate product features and benefits to customers.
Offer personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and needs.
Accurately process orders and ensure correct details are entered into the POS system.
Guide customers through the payment process and explain payment options.
Handle returned merchandise according to company policy and document any issues.
Obtain approvals for refunds/replacements and coordinate with the inventory team.
Upsell and cross-sell complementary products to enhance the customer experience.
Actively gather customer feedback and address any concerns promptly.
Maintain professionalism and follow the company’s appearance guidelines.
Ensure customer and staff safety in emergencies and follow established security procedures.
Comply with data privacy regulations and attend regular training sessions.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any field.
1-2 years of experience in online customer service or sales, preferably in e-commerce.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service orientation.
Proficiency in English and Luganda; an additional language is a plus.
Basic computer literacy and knowledge of POS systems preferred.
Strong product knowledge and ability to learn quickly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
