The National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) is a corporate autonomous statutory institution under the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoE&S) responsible for the development of educational curricula for Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions in Uganda.

National Curriculum Development Centre
To initiate, coordinate and edit curriculum and related materials developed by panels in the subject of specialty under the guidance and supervision of the senior specialist.
Terms of Service: Permanent.
Curriculum Development
Curriculum Design: Develop ICT curricula that align with educational standards, technological advancements, and institutional goals.
Content Creation: Create detailed lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools for ICT courses.
Integration: Ensure ICT is effectively integrated into other subject areas and overall curriculum frameworks.
Instructional Support
Teacher Training: Provide professional development and training for teachers on the ICT curriculum and effective teaching methods.
Resource Provision: Supply educators with the necessary resources, including software, hardware, and instructional materials.
Ongoing Support: Offer ongoing support and guidance to teachers implementing the ICT curriculum.
Technology Integration
Tech Implementation: Advise on and assist with the implementation of new technologies in the classroom.
Digital Tools: Identify and recommend digital tools and resources that enhance learning and teaching.
Blended Learning: Promote and support the use of blended learning strategies that combine traditional teaching with digital tools.
Assessment and Evaluation
Assessment Development: Create assessments that accurately measure student learning and proficiency in ICT.
Data Analysis: Analyze assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness of the ICT curriculum and identify areas for improvement.
Feedback Implementation: Use feedback from students, teachers, and stakeholders to make informed adjustments to the curriculum.
Curriculum Alignment and Standards
Standards Alignment: Ensure the ICT curriculum aligns with national and regional education standards and benchmarks.
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with educational policies and regulations related to ICT education.
Best Practices: Stay updated with best practices in ICT education and incorporate them into the curriculum.
Research and Development
Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in ICT to keep the curriculum current and relevant.
Innovative Practices: Research and implement innovative educational practices that enhance ICT learning.
Pilot Programs: Develop and oversee pilot programs to test new approaches and technologies in ICT education.
Collaboration and Communication
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with educational leaders, teachers, parents, and students to gather input and support for the ICT curriculum.
Partnerships: Build partnerships with technology companies, educational organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance ICT education.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with other curriculum specialists to integrate ICT skills across various subjects.
Resource Management
Budgeting: Manage the budget for ICT curriculum development and related resources.
Resource Allocation: Ensure efficient allocation of resources, including technology, materials, and personnel.
Grant Writing: Identify funding opportunities and write grants to support ICT initiatives.
Professional Development
Continuing Education: Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in ICT and educational methodologies.
Conferences and Workshops: Attend and present at conferences, workshops, and seminars related to ICT education.
Networking: Build and maintain professional networks with other curriculum specialists, educators, and industry professionals.
Quality Assurance
Curriculum Review: Regularly review and update the ICT curriculum to maintain high standards and relevance.
Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the effective delivery of the ICT curriculum.
Accreditation: Assist with accreditation processes by providing documentation and evidence of curriculum quality and effectiveness.

A Masters Degree in Education with a bias in ICT from a recognised institution. An Honours Bachelor's Degree in Education with ICT or An Honours Bachelor's degree with a qualification in Education and ICT from a recognised institution.
A qualification in Curriculum Design and Development is an added advantage.
Work Experience
At least four (4) years teaching experience. two of which he/she should have participated in Curriculum design and development.
Age limit: 25-50 years
