Job Description
The Credit Manager will oversee all aspects of credit risk assessment and management, ensuring that the company's credit portfolio remains sound. The role involves evaluating creditworthiness, setting credit limits, analyzing credit reports, and ensuring compliance with credit policies. The Credit Manager will also lead a team of credit analysts, train staff, and work closely with customers to manage credit-related issues efficiently.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Evaluate creditworthiness of customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize credit risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Set and manage credit limits for customers, monitoring credit utilization and making necessary adjustments.
Review and approve credit applications while ensuring adherence to established credit policies.
Communicate credit decisions, payment terms, and credit-related issues with customers.
Analyze credit reports, identify trends, and provide insights to inform decision-making.
Ensure proper collateral documentation and valuation, adjusting collateral coverage as needed.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements.
Lead and manage a team of credit analysts, providing training and performance evaluations.
Identify areas for process improvement in credit management operations and implement changes.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) are an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit management, credit analysis, or a related field.
Experience in banking, finance, or retail credit management preferred.
Leadership experience managing a team of credit analysts or professionals.
Key Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound knowledge of credit risk assessment and credit policy development.
Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in credit reporting, financial analysis, and risk management.
