Job Title: Costs & Business Controller

The Costs & Business Controller will play a vital role in overseeing financial performance, optimizing cost efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position involves managing cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure financial goals are met. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to drive financial success.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Cost Management and Analysis
Monitor and control operational costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency.
Conduct in-depth cost analysis to provide insights into cost drivers and potential savings.
Track and analyze variances between actual costs and budgets, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working with departments to develop accurate financial plans.
Monitor budget adherence and provide regular updates to management on financial performance.
Adjust forecasts as needed based on changing conditions, providing insights on financial implications.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Prepare and present regular financial reports, including cost summaries, profit and loss statements, and other key metrics.
Analyze financial data to support business decisions and improve profitability.
Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
Strategic Planning Support
Work with senior management to provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives and business planning.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and identify growth opportunities.
Support decision-making through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and cost-benefit assessments.
Collaboration and Cross-Departmental Support
Collaborate with department heads to provide insights and support for cost management and budget control.
Train and educate team members on financial practices, budgeting, and cost control techniques.
Support internal audits and implement financial best practices across the organization.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or professional certification, such as CPA or CIMA, preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience in cost control, financial analysis, and budgeting, preferably within a business environment.
Additional Requirements:
Detail-oriented and capable of working independently.
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support financial goals.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools.
Technical proficiency in Accounting and Financial Management.
Meticulous and rigorous in financial reporting and analysis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Added Advantage: Experience in the logistics field.
Knowledge of financial systems and ERP software.
Excellent, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
