Job Description
The Cost/Stock Controller will be responsible for tracking and managing stock levels, analyzing food and beverage costs, and improving inventory and purchasing processes. The role involves close collaboration with chefs and procurement officers to ensure that inventory aligns with operational needs, while minimizing waste and maximizing cost efficiency. The candidate will also maintain compliance with financial and regulatory standards in all aspects of stock management.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock is maintained without excessive surplus or shortages.
Analyze and report on food and beverage costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare detailed reports on stock usage, cost variances, and any inventory issues.
Collaborate with chefs and purchasing personnel to ensure stock availability aligns with menu requirements.
Implement systems and procedures for effective stock control to prevent losses through theft, spoilage, or mismanagement.
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and external regulatory standards related to inventory and cost control.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Proven experience in inventory management, cost control, or a similar role within the hospitality or food industry.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in using inventory management systems and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Strong communication and coordination skills for working with kitchen and purchasing staff.
Knowledge of financial and regulatory compliance standards related to inventory.
