Job Description
Job Title: Coordinator Partnerships and Private Investments
Organisation: National Forestry Authority (NFA)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Director Natural Forests Management
To promote and oversee sustainable development and management of partnerships and private investments in Central Forest Reserves.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise private tree farmers, community involvement, eco-tourism developments and other licensed investments in Central Forest Reserves (CFRs).
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance partnerships and private investments in CFRs.
Oversee the formulation of partnership agreements and MOUs between NFA, forest adjacent communities, public and private institutions.
Provide technical guidance and backstopping to private tree farmers, eco-tourism operators and recommend innovations for sustainable utilization of products.
Maintain a database for private tree farmers, eco-tourism operators, other licensed investments and ensure compliance to license terms and conditions.
Develop and review Business and operational plans for licensed investments and provide recommendations to Management for approval.
Develop and coordinate the implementation of guidelines for Private tree farming, eco-tourism operations and communities in CFRs in line with the legal frameworks and environmental regulations.
Coordinate infrastructure developments for private farmers and eco-tourism operations.
Coordinate the development and execution of business plans, operational guidelines, and investment for private tree farming and ecotourism activities in CFRs.
Supervise, appraise and build staff capacity.
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in forestry from a reputable institution.
Masters in Forestry or any other related field.
A minimum of five (5) years related experience, with three (3) years at supervisory level in a similar or related position.
Knowledge of nursery management, forest fire management and silvicultural operations.
Minimum of thirty five (35) years of age.
Leadership, management, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to manage the supply chain for s silvicultural, harvesting operations and logistics.
Knowledge of forest plantation development and management.
High level of integrity, resilience and reliability.
Entrepreneurial ability and result-oriented work habit.
